In India, the NGO Terre des Hommes e.V. is receiving funding of 1.2 million euros to help implement the “Sumangali” scheme for the abolition of extremely exploitative working conditions in the textile industry in southern India. The aim of this project is to prevent the recruitment of girls from families living in marginalised communities on slave-type contracts, and to rehabilitate victims.

The programme to Improve Social and Labour Standards in the Textile and Garment Sector in Asia is developing a new, playful app, which allows female textile workers in Myanmar to acquire in-depth knowledge of their labour rights, as well as to learn how they can exercise these rights and create networks among themselves.

The First MicroFinance Bank Afghanistan is being supported in opening its first female-only branch and in developing customer-specific financial products
