Training Paralegals for Legal Advise

In Togo, family and inheritance conflicts, as well as incidents of domestic violence, are mediated by female paralegals (lay legal advisors). However, men often refused to be counselled by female paralegals. Thus, for the first time, men were trained as paralegals to work in a team with their female colleagues. In this way, men are far more willing to participate in a process of conflict mediation and to deal with the legal situation of women and girls.
